Dave Thompson, SNP MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch is delighted to learn that two groups in Lochaber are to benefit from Awards for All grants.
Care Lochaber (£6,119) and 1st Lochalsh Scout Group (£9,750) will use the awards to run a variety of learning events and to purchase equipment.
Commenting on this Mr Thompson said, “The funds awarded to Care Lochaber will be used to promote 12 monthly social and learning events, meaning awareness of the group and the fantastic work they do will be raised, which is fantastic news for the area.
The award for 1st Lochalsh Scout Group will be used to purchase camping equipment and a storage trailer which will be of massive benefit to those involved in the scout club.
I would like to congratulate both groups for their successful applications to Awards for All and wish them all the best in continuing with the great work they are doing to help those most in need in Lochaber”.
Note:
Awards For All Scotland gives groups a chance to apply for a grant of between £500 and £10,000 for projects that aim to help improve local communities and the lives of people most in need. We will fund a range of projects which involve bringing local people together, helping people learn, improving local spaces and getting people more active.
