SKYE, Lochaber and Badenoch MSP, Dave Thompson, was delighted to meet with the minister of Kingussie Parish Church last week.
Reverend Helen Cook was visiting the Scottish Parliament having been asked to lead Time for Reflection. The first item of business in Parliament each Wednesday is Time for Reflection. Guests are drawn from across Scotland and abroad, from all faiths and walks of life. On Wednesday, 5th October, Members listened to the Church of Scotland minister from the Highlands speaking on peace.
Mr Thompson commented, “Being asked to lead Time for Reflection is an honour. I am delighted that the Parliament invited a local church leader from the Highlands, identifying the important role that members of Highland clergy play in local communities.
Mr Thompson met with Rev Cook and her family before and after Time for Reflection. Mary Scanlon, MSP for Highlands and Islands, joined them.
Mr Thompson said, “Faith remains an issue of significant importance across the Highlands. It was a privilege to chat to Rev Cook and her family, recognising the work that she and her colleagues are involved with in Kingussie and further afield.”
