Dave Thompson MSP for Skye Lochaber and Badenoch attending the Belladrum Festival was delighted with the success of the event last weekend.

Mr Thompson was specifically on the panel at two debates in the Verb Garden, but also had time to appreciate the weather and the wider festival. On Friday He was on the panel of Brian Taylor’s Big Debate, the Radio forum broadcast at midday and on Saturday afternoon he took part in a Scottish Independence debate hosted By Iain MacWhirter. Mr Thompson said, “What an excellent venue for a wonderful family friendly festival. I was delighted too to be invited to speak in the two debates. The Saturday debate on Scottish Independence was particularly noteworthy for despite the sunny weather outside it was standing room only with an audience of over one hundred.

“I was even more delighted when the show of hands at the end was 2 to 1 in favour of Scotland taking its rightful place as one of over two hundred other independent nations.”
