Dave Thompson, SNP MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch has today (Thursday) welcomed awards from the Scottish Land Fund to organisations within his constituency totalling £316,360.
West Glenmoriston Community Company has been awarded £95,360 and Aigas Community Forest has been awarded £221,000.
Commenting on these awards, Mr Thompson said: “I am delighted that two organisations within my constituency had been given such substantial awards from the Scottish Land Fund, which was abolished by the Lib/Lab Scottish Executive in 2006 but re-established by the SNP Government in 2012.
“Both awards will ensure that areas within the constituency will come under community control and will be used to benefit these small and fragile communities.
“It is with great pleasure that I have put two motions to Parliament to congratulate West Glenmoriston Community Company and Aigas Community Forest.
“I wish both communities the very best of luck with their respective projects and I look forward to more successes in the future”
